Hi Jill, You have only so much patience.Vent away!! You deserve it!!I am so sorry to hear Ally is back in the hospital. I know the doctors are doing what is best(I've seen both sides being a transplant nurse)but it never diminishes the frustration that you feel. You are such a wonderful Mom to both girls and just want to have a normal life.I also really understand your worry about her catching something else at the hospital it is a real concern. Be the hand washing police with everyone which I am sure you already know.I have added you to the prayer chain at my church as well as my sister's in Maryland.Too many prayers can never hurt. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I pray you are all home very soon!!!!!

Jessica / Monday, March 31 2008 11:30 AM

Hi Jill, I am so sorry to hear about Ally's latest difficulties. I can honestly say I know how you feel. We actually got to come home (even gave up our Pittsburgh apartment). We were home for TWO days before Andrew decided he wanted to visit his friends at UMMC. He was admitted and we spent a week there only to find out that he had a line infection (those darn gram negative rods) and they treated him for pseudonomas. Luckily we were discharged in time for him to celebrate his birthday at home, but he is still getting treated with the IV antibiotics through his PICC. Vanc didn't work for his type of infection, so he is on Zosyn (luckily, because we can come home on that!). We are heading back up to Pittsburgh this afternoon. Andrew has a (supposed to be) out patient procedure tomorrow and then clinic on Wed and Thurs. Hopefully all will go well and he won't get admitted! I have been praying for Ally and for your family! I hope Ally keeps her good spirits! Jessica (Andrew's mom - Kidney/Liver TX 9/18/07 at CHP)

Hi Jill, Your strength and courage amaze me!! You serve as such an inspiration to so many. It is famlies like yours and Logans that make such a difference for all the patients listed for organ transplants.I have worked in the transplant field for more than 25 years and because I deal with both the donors and recipients I see the true miracles that happen. I have always done the walk with the CHOP team each year but Ally will give me one more special reason to walk this year.I am keeping all of you in my prayers as well as the donor famlies and those still awaiting transplants. I hope Ashley is doing better as well. I had dinner with Denise and Wally tonight and Wally was saying he was coming out to spend April Fools Day with Ashley. If you are able to come home for Easter I would be glad to help you if you need it. I would be glad to do night shifts so you could sleep and Ally can stay safe.Wally has all my numbers if you need them. I am so glad Ally is progressing nicely and I will continue to pray for her recovery and you all to be home for Easter. God Bless!

Dear Jill, You and your family are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Today I was able to see an older picture of Ally. I'm a school nurse at a local high school. We will be doing a blood drive shortly at my school and Carol Meeker from Miller Keystone was encouraging my young students the importance of donating blood. There upon the stage was the picture of your beautiful Ally. I was able to give them first hand reassurance of how important blood donations are. Hopefully my students will now be able to identify a person with this life saving gift and be ready to donate. Glad to hear Ally is doing better this week. In my prayers, Gina Kuzma (Mary Beth Kuzma's mom)

Just wanted to let you know that I spoke at a Boyertown Chamber of Commerce dinner this past Wednesday on behalf of Corvettes for Kids. Your last paragraph in this entry proves what I said about CFK parents. I specifically used you and Shane, as the parents of Ally, our 2007 spokes child as an example. Hope you don't mind. Working with Corvettes for Kids over the past 20 plus years has shown me that God has given each of these kids extraordinary parents. We don't choose life's path, but you have shown that you have taken the path given to you and become an inspiration to everyone with whom you've come in contact. We are continuing to pray for Ally's recovery. May God bless you all as you stay by her side on the road to better health. Remember you are always in our thoughts and prayers.

I put the updated info on our Church prayer chain. One of the women in our Church is fighting cancer and along with the cancer she has had two bouts of c-dif. She wrote back this info. I know that you have several experts but couldn't not pass this onAlly's sister recently had C-dif, didn't she? Now, just curious, because one new treatment of C-dif is the addition of Saccharomyces Boulardii to the antibiotic meds. S. Boulardii can sometimes cause infections, even in people not taking it, if they are in a weakened condition and get exposed to it some other way--on someone's hands, for example. So if you could send this on to whomever (was it Sherrie?) is updating us, they could find out if Ally's sister was treated with S. Boulardii. Not all doctors use it, and maybe not on kids, I don't know. So this could be a moot point. But since I thought of it, I decided I should mention it, anyway, just in case it was of help.

D.Stinnard / Wednesday, January 16 2008 01:27 AM

Hope all turns out with allys numbers. Mine are still out of whack but after months of the same.. now accepted as norm. I too had/have bile duct issues.. But now they go by symptoms. Hope the out put stays down. It will also go up and down alot until the bowel gets comfortable in there... took mine a good while. Hang in there, thinking of you guys steph

Our prayers are with all of you. I'm sorry that Ally is having a difficult time right now with her bile ducts....John says to give Ally a hug for him and to tell her that everything is going to be okay.

Morning Ally and family I am praying that the ERCP does get done today and they can find the exact cause of the problem and find the correct treatment needed. I am lifting Ally up in prayer for all her needs. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

To start the New Year ...
