Jill and family,
We were all so saddened by the news of Ally's passing. We will not say you have lost your little angel because she will always be a part of so many lives. It always brought us such joy to see her come into the office.Our hearts along with yours are broken that she just could not overcome so many medical obstacles.Please know our prayers and thoughts are with all of you today and the days to come. Little miss Ally has touched many lives in her short 4 years of life. When I worked at Children's I would drive to work and hope i'd get to be her nurse for my shift. She'd always make you smile and was such a fun little girl. I will forever remember watching Cars and Ratatoulle, reading books, and her mittens!! And of course Krista and I would fight over which one of us she liked more! :-) Even though she was only here on earth for a short while, the memories she has given us will remain with us for our lifetimes! Shane, Jill, and Ashley, you are a wonderful family, I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

This is a poem given to me when my Dad passed:

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God
Was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone;
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide;
And though we can not see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

In the Heavenly Meadow

To Heaven's Meadows, bright with flowers and sunshine,
The little children go,
When they have had enough of life's sad dreaming,
And leave the earth below.
But as they had not time to learn their lessons
Before they went away,
There is a school, where all the angel children
Must work four hours a day.
With golden pencils upon silver tablets,
They copy fairy tales,
And learn to keep their halos bright and shining,
And sing, and play their scales.
And twice a week they glide with merry laughter
All down the Milky Way,
And homeward in the evening wander softly
Upon a sunset ray.
But Sunday is the day they love and long for;
Then all the children go
And play from mourn till night within a meadow
Where flowers in thousands grow.
The meadow is not green, but blue and golden,
The flowers like dewdrops bright;
When it is night, they burn and glow and glisten-
We call them stars of light.

Dear Family,
I Wrote earlier, i went through some of my poems that i wroteand i found this one, i changed it a little bit for you:
Without You Here
I see your picture and i start to cry,
Then i ask why you had to die

So many things i wanted to say
Now i have to wait until that day

I never thought you'd leave so soon
I always thought you'd be around

When you were here you brightened up my day
You knew all the right things to say

You brought joy to all our lives
Now we ask the lord to hear our cries

Keep our daughter safe and warm for we know she is in your arms

Without you here I cry my tears
Praying i could tell you my fears

So many things you'll never see
You'll never see what was meant to be

It's not your fault you left so soon
God must have broke a piece from the moon......

I became somewhat familiar with your family through the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. I truely feel for your family. I can not even begin to imagine how difficult it must be for you right now. Just know that it happened for a reason, God doesn't do these things on puropse, there is always a reason. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers, you will make it through this, it just might take some time.

I am so sorry for your loss of Ally. Please accept my condolences. Ally was such a fighter. I feel very blessed to have spent some time with Ally. She touched everyone she met. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families during this difficult time. I did not know Ally personally but I do know some of your family members and I graduated with Jill. I always checked the website for updates on how she was doing and would ask her Uncle Kevin when he stopped in at my work. Her story has touched my heart and I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Family, You and your family don't know me,But i learned about your daughter today. I just wanted to send my condolences to all the family and friends. i know how much pain you feel right now,(I too lost a child). With time i hope you will find peace in your broken hearts, and know that she will always be with you.

My heart and prayers go out to all of you. Your family is strong and will be able to make it through this trying time. Ally has touched many people. She will be in our memories for a lifetime. We will be praying for you in the weeks to come.

I just happened to see about ally in the paper and had to read her story. What a beautiful little girl! My heart goes out to you and your family with all you've had to endure. I hope you can take comfort in knowing she will be watching over you the rest of your years. A note to Dad- yes, your are SOME father, she was definitely loved during her short time here, you not being present at the very end doesn't diminish the love you gave her.

Following Ally's progression through all that she went through, has made her much like a family member and her passing has really touched my heart, spirit & soul. I could not believe it when I heard, especially since she was finally doing so well, going to school and enjoying childhood. I know that this is a difficult time for all, and I can only imagine the pain and emptiness, but I offer you all my love and support. We have to believe that God's plan and purpose for Ally being on this earth has been fulfilled, and that now she's in His arms and has moved on to the peacefulness she so earned and deserves.

May you find peace that passes all understanding.

My heart goes out to you. Shane and Jill you are the strongest two people I know and through your strength you will pull through and help Ashley. My thoughts and prayers go out to you family during this most difficult time. The loss of a child so young is something no parent should have to go through. I know. I went through the same thing a little over a year ago and it's the hardest thing you will ever have to deal with. I have followed Ally's progress through John Maicher's site. I can only tell you that even though I have never met you, my heart hurts for you and your entire family. Please tell Ashley that she deserves to be happy, and that she is allowed to be happy. Live your life for her and the blessing that she is. You will never let go of Ally, but you need to let Ashley know that no matter what has happened, she can still laugh, move on, and be a kid.

Please know that I speak from experience, and I am not just offering hollow advice.

I send you many hugs, and more prayers for you and your angel.

I was so sad to read these last two updates. We have had the honor of walking with Ally's Angels for the last two years. We have admired the love, strength and courage you all have shown for the last several years. Ally was so lucky to have such incredible parents and sister by her side every step of the way. You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

I work with Jen Heimbach and have been praying for Ally. I am so sorry for your loss and I will pray for your family that The Lord will be with you all during this very tough time. You all are amazing people and a great example of Christ's love. Jesus loves you.

We are feeling your loss here in Pittsburgh at the Children's School. We are sending many hugs to Ashley from her old teachers and friends! You all touched our lives last year and are in our thoughts and prayers now.

I did not have the priviledge of personally meeting Ally but through the Boyertown community and your extended families I feel as though I could call her a friend. I have been checking the journal daily/weekly and I believe that the strength and love your family showed Ally over the last 4 years will carry you through this difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've always viewed Alley's site when I would be in reading John's. I really became attached and concerned with everyday tasks she was going through. I enjoyed all the pictures and the strength that you, your wife and Ashley have with dealing with such ups and downs. I really thought she was on her way to freedom of hospital's. It really makes you realize how quick life can change it's course. God Bless all of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

We are sorry for your loss. Being parents of three boys the youngest being only a few days older than Ally I cannot even imagine the pain you must feel. I wish I could bare some of it for you.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss! I had the opportunity to meet Ally twice while working at Dr. Kromash's office. She was and always will be such a wonderful little girl with so much spirit and happiness that spoured out onto everyone who had the opportunity to be around her.
